Ernie and I went for a week away. It was a beautiful time to travel no people and no traffic and lots of nice fall scenery. With many hours to travel we had time to chat, read and I could stitch. I even got the 2 blocks stitched that I took along to do. We went to Penticton to see his folks and then went to Abbotsford to see my dad and Auntie Pauline(my stepmom). From Penticton went south to the border and drove the USA roads to the coast. Dad and me

Some of the great things about being away by ourselves (with no kids to contend with)is stopping at a few place's that we like to stop at Quilts shops, hobby shops, coffee shops. (I have a very patient husband who patiently reads a book while I shop.)
Hamels in Chilliwack A new quilt shop just opened up in the country.

We also on the way home drove past my auntie Mabels house in Revelstoke. I spent many holidays there, as that was really the only place we went for a holiday. (visiting my moms family) I don't think anyone was living there at this time. It is always fun going down memory lane and remembering all of the good memories that the the lane brings. Sandi

Town of Winthrop,WATook the scenic route through the Cascades. It is a cool road but very twisty and lots of tight turns. I haven't been car sick for a long time but managed to feel a little bit woosy a few times on that drive. We stopped to get some fresh air and this is the picture we saw. In this little area is three dams. The water was such a pretty color. Cascade highway is south of Osooyoos in WA, USA
One day we took Dad and Pauline for a trip with us down memory lane. We decided to go and see where Ernie boarded in Langley. Then we went to check out Silverdale Conv Grounds. The house's and property were pretty run down and overgrown. At first we missed Silverdale altogether. We drove right past the property that once was so familiar to Ernie. His grandparents lived there and he spent lots of time there.
